The ‘Beds for Honduras Project’ is a cooperative program between Christianaires Ministries of Northport, AL and The Church of God Social Ministries in Honduras, Central America, directed by Dr. Roman Cruz. Dr. Cruz recently was guest speaker at Saint Mark's Annual Mission Banquet for Saint Mark United Methodist Church in July 2018 and he encouraged members of Saint Mark to continue sponsoring and participating in this project that is critical to providing beds for poor Honduran children living in rural areas of Honduras who would normally sleep on dirt and earthen floors within the community that are infested with parasites and disease, which infect children during their sleep.
Saint Mark members over the past several years have been essential in providing funding to purchase lumber and construction materials to build wooden beds in the Nueva Alianza community. Volunteers from Saint Mark and other local churches traveled to Honduras during March 2016 – 2018 as short term mission teams to build and deliver beds to members of the community in need. In addition, funding was provided to this community to improve nutrition, education and medical needs as a part of a long term commitment to Strengthen Families for Life. Another mission team will be traveling to Honduras in March 2019 to build additional beds for this community and other villages in the region to supply and ongoing need for more beds.
If you would like to give financially in support of this mission you may do so by contacting the church secretary or give online. At the time of your online donation it is imperative you list Beds for Honduras as your beneficiary.
Individuals who wish to be part of this mission team can contact Jerry Moss for more information.

Christianaires Ministries also is partnering with Saint Mark United Methodist Church in December 2018 to participate in a Christmas Program where members of Saint Mark and other churches join together to travel to Honduras and provide Christmas to children living in impoverished areas of the country where they would not have the opportunity to celebrate this special time of the year. Special Christmas services will be held where children and their families will be served a Christmas meal, receive individual Christmas presents, and red apples, which are a special treat for kids.
